Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's about our animal figurines

What are the differences between your brands?

All brands sold at MiniZoo are of high quality and have been safety tested. Although we sell a variety of toy animal products, our core product range is animal figurines from the following brands: Schleich, Papo, CollectA, Mojo, Toymany, Safari Ltd and Bullyland. All of these brands are made to a similar scale, from similar quality materials, and hand-painted with a high attention to detail. We have plenty of blog posts that showcase these brands side by side. Our recommndation is not to limit yourself to one brand, but rather mix between these brands to complete your own animal toy collection. Simply search the animal you like best and add to cart!

What scale are your animal figurines?

The scale of all our items varies greatly, but the most common scale in our major figurine brands as listed above is considered to be 1:20. Wherever possible we have included the exact measurements of each product in the product description. For visual clarity, you can read this blog to see the comparison of sizes between the brands. We also showcase product comparisons regularly on our Instagram page which you can follow here

What are the products made from?

The toy figurines from our most popular brands are made from PVC (plastic) and painted with non-toxic acrylic paints. Please refer to our Toy Safety page for information specific to each brand.

What age are the toy animals suitable for?

Most of the products are suitable for ages 3+. There are exceptions to this and we recommend you refer to our Toy Safety page for information specific to each brand, or read the individual product descriptions for further detail.

My figurine doesn't stand up or has a bent piece. How do I fix it?

A common problem with PVC figurines is plastic warping. This often affects long thin sections such as legs and horns. To straighten, simply heat the model with warm water or a hairdryer, then hold the part in the correct position while running under cold water. This resets the plastic in the correct position. Repeat if necessary. If a part has broken off we recommend using a 2 part quick drying epoxy glue (such as araldite) to repair. Ensure the pieces are clean before applying glue. In larger pieces it is often helpful to drill a small hole in the two parts and insert a metal pin (such as a cut off paperclip) before applying glue and pushing the two halves together. Pinning provides significant additional strength.

FAQ's about our website

Do you run sales?

We want a fair system for all customers equally, so we offer the best prices all year round. MiniZoo customers can access further discounts within our loyalty program by earning points. For more information on this, see our loyalty program info page here. We will occasionally run a sale on one specific brand at a time, but this doesn't happen often. Join our mailing list to hear about any promotions.

Can I pre-order items?

We don’t offer pre-orders on any items - all products are only available to purchase if we physically have them in our warehouse and ready to ship to you. We do, however, have a notification list for customers who want to know when a new product arrives, or when a sold out item is restocked. Simply click into that product listing and select 'Notify Me'. When you enter your email address, you'll receive a notification as soon as that product arrives in stock.

How many items can I add to my cart?

Guest carts are limited to 50 products, but if you create an account and sign in as a customer you can add up to 600 individual products to your cart, that's a lot of animals!

Can I make changes to my order once it has been placed?

Your order goes through a number of automated processes once placed, and changes cannot be made after this time. Please check your cart carefully before submitting the order.

Are retired products for sale?

If it is still listed on our website, then yes - the retired flag simply means the manufacturer has stopped making this product. We will eventually sell out of these items and they won't be restocked - so grab them while you can!
